eBay charges the highest headline rate of the major card venues, and it applies to more than the item price. If you are running breaks or selling singles here, the fee drag is large enough that the spot price has to be set deliberately.

Step 1 — where are you selling?
This fills the fee fields below. Replace them with your own effective rate once you have a payout statement.
Add the exact box or card set you are pricing. The image stays in this browser during the free calculation.
The sample uses public product specs and illustrative operating costs. Replace every assumption with your actual receipt, platform fee schedule, packaging, and shipping responsibility.
Estimates depend on the fees and costs you enter. Confirm current platform terms before committing inventory. Sell-through is a planning scenario, not permission to open unfilled product.

How the fee is built
What eBay charges a breaker
Final value fee
A percentage of the total the buyer pays, which includes shipping and tax
Per-order charge
A flat amount on each order
Store subscription
Changes the rate; higher tiers pay less
Confirm this against your own payout
13.25% plus a per-order charge is the commonly cited trading-card rate for sellers without a store or on a starter store. Store subscribers and high-value singles are reported to pay less.
The detail that catches people out: eBay's fee is calculated on the full amount the buyer pays, shipping and tax included, not just the item price.
Rates seeded above were checked on 30 July 2026. Platforms change them without notice — verify at eBay selling fees.
Questions breakers ask
Does eBay charge fees on shipping too?
Yes. The final value fee applies to the total the buyer pays, which includes shipping and sales tax. That makes eBay more expensive than the headline percentage suggests whenever shipping is a large share of the order.
Is eBay worth it for breaks compared to live platforms?
It has reach and no vetting, but the fee is higher and it is not built for live spot selling. Run both through the calculator with the same product and spot price; the difference in net is usually clearer than any argument about audience.
